What should robots do in the future? Is simulation the way forward for robotics? What do we want from robotics systems that learn? These are just some of the questions that were addressed at this year’s Berlin Summit on Robotics this last 25–27 July.
Every year, this three-day event brings together leading researchers in robotics and related areas to Berlin where they discuss and tackle strategic challenges in robotics research. The 27 participants in the talks included SCIoI members Oliver Brock, Marc Toussaint, Verena Hafner, and Martin Rolfs, as well as notable representatives of the robotics world from four continents, and this year’s edition, funded by SCIoI, also included a poster session at MAR with many of SCIoI researchers, which was a real success!
