Magdalena completed her bachelor’s and master’s studies at the Technical University of Berlin in Computer Engineering. During her work at Fraunhofer IPK and at the university she gained experience in different robotics fields, both working with industrial robot arms and mobile robots, which is now expanding to humanoid robots. Her research interests include cognitive robotics, automation, and machine learning. At SCIoI, Magdalena is working on Project 45B under the supervision of Prof. Verena Hafner in the Adaptive Systems group at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Inspired by nature, the research focuses on the role of plasticity in sensorimotor learning, dealing with the problem of catastrophic forgetting.
